Standalone scraping/renaming on Linux?

fm3, 40 days ago

I use Kodi.

I'm converting my many years of DVDs.

Until now, my typical workflow has been to rip the discs, batch rename (corrrecly) using FileBot, then mv to Kodi folders, scan to library, using Universal scrapers, and export/save .nfo's.

Works great.

But, FileBot's abandoned for Linux.

Looking for replacement, I found MediaElch.

I understand it integrates with Kodi.

As a first step, however, I'd like to get it working in a standalone mode.

I've added a bunch of shows/movies as 'Downloads' (the only way I apparently *CAN* add them).  But i can't seem to actually *DO* anything with them.  Can't import them into TV or Movies to scrape rename.  Clicking on the available Import simply does nothing.

Am I missing the obvious here?  Or is this not doable?  I'm guessing/hoping the former.

    You say

I've added a bunch of shows/movies as 'Downloads' (the only way I apparently *CAN* add them).

Added .mkv or .mp4 files? If yes, you dont need use downloads.

    How are these files organized?
Are the movies each in a folder?

    They're all .mkv

I've been unable to get MediaElch to even see them by any mehtod OTHER than Downloads

    > How are these files organized?
    > Are the movies each in a folder?

    I've tried

TV shows in a single dir

TV shows in a Show-named dir

TV shows in a Show-named dir, in Season_# subdirs

    Movies in a single dir

    Movies in a Movie-named dir

Can't get MediaElch to do anything with them, other than get them into that Downloads list.

If you already have a folder named, for example, New Movies 1.
And inside this folder you have other folders, each with a movie.
Then you need to add this folder New Movies 1 in:
    Settings > Global > Add
and select the options: 1 Movies and 2 Separate Folders.
And then click F5 or reload movies.
Take a test and say it worked.

My MediaElch interface is not in English. Therefore, something can be lost in translation.
